Upcoming In Store Presentations

Woodpecker Presentation
Saturday, August 8, 2026
11:00 AM
Join us for another talk where our guest speaker, Tanner Shepard, will be discussing Woodpeckers. Woodpeckers are one of the bird groups that we get many questions about. We hope to answer all of those and more. Come learn about their natural history, anatomy, breeding and nesting behavior, species that can be found locally, and how you can attract them to your yard.
This is a free event and all are welcome. Please RSVP by calling the store at 502-352-2891 or email us at [email protected].
Bio: Tanner Shepard became interested in birding at the age of 11. He is a passionate birder and has led bird walks at multiple birding-related events. He has a B.S. in Biology from Morehead State University and an M.S. in Wildlife Ecology from Texas State University. While in Texas, he became a frequent iNaturalist user, focussing mostly on posting observations of terrestrial arthropods. He has been an employee at Wild Birds Unlimited in Frankfort since it opened in March of 2016, and has continued to work here while not in school.
